Delhi rains: IMD issues nowcast warning of wet spells in THESE regions

Delhi rains: The Regional Meteorological Centre in Delhi predicted possibility of light rainfall or drizzle in the national capital in the next one hour.
Taking to social media platform X, the weather agency stated, “Light rainfall/drizzle is very likely to occur at isolated places of Delhi ( Dilshad Garden, Seemapuri, Vivek Vihar), NCR ( Hindon AF Station, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chhapraula) Aurangabad (Haryana) Baraut (U.P.) during next 2 hours.”

Delhi Traffic Police warned against waterlogging and subsequent obstruction to traffic movement across the capital due to incessant rainfall. Affected areas include Mandi Road, Rohtak Road, Sector 19/20, Dwarka crossing towards Kargil Chowk.
The air quality index (AQI) in the national capital dropped to 52, positioning it in the ‘satisfactory’ category which marks a rare occurrence in a year. This relief might be short-lived as forecast suggests a halt in the incessant rainfall in the coming days, bringing back the high pollution levels in the capital city. According to forecasts, AQI levels may witness a dip on Sunday and Monday.
The Regional Meteorological Centre in Delhi predicted generally cloudy sky with light rainfall and thundershowers during the day amid a yellow alert. Wet spells will most likely grace the capital again on September 18 and 19. The maximum temperature is expected to settle around 32 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature will hover around 21 degrees Celsius on Saturday.
According to reports, Delhi’s monsoon season has already surpassed its average rainfall and registered 616.1 mm rainfall while the normal level stands at 510 mm. This month alone witnessed 125.8 mm of rain which marks 55% above average wet spells in September.
The weather department issued another warning about Light intermittent rainfall in Delhi-NCR. The latest rainfall warning predicts downpours in Narela, Bawana, Alipur, Civil Lines, Dilshad Garden, Seemapuri, Seelampur, Hindon AF Station, Pilakhua, Hapur and Gulaoti in the coming two hours.
